What are the electrical and space requirements?

Power

A standard grounded 120V outlet, dedicated where possible. A modern refrigerated combo unit generally draws around 5 to 9 amps at start-up and considerably less while running, with energy-saving models cycling down during idle periods.

The one thing to check is what else is on the circuit. A refrigerated machine sharing a circuit with a microwave and a coffee maker is the most common cause of nuisance breaker trips in a break room.

Extension cords are not acceptable for permanent placement. If the nearest outlet is too far, that is worth flagging before the site walk.

Space and clearance

Plan for roughly 30 to 40 inches of wall width and about 35 inches of depth per machine, plus a few inches of rear clearance for airflow to the condenser. Blocking that airflow shortens equipment life and is the second most common placement mistake.

Floors, doors, and delivery path

A loaded machine can weigh 700 to 900 pounds. That is fine on a slab and fine on most commercial floors, but worth confirming on an upper floor of an older building.

The delivery path matters more than people expect. We need a route with at least 36 inches of door width, and elevator access for anything above ground level.

Connectivity

Cashless machines use a cellular modem, not your network, so there is no IT involvement and no request for wifi credentials. In buildings with poor cellular coverage in the placement area, this is worth checking first.
